In Memoriam

Performance, found objects, digital photography.

In Memoriam commemorates the children buried in the Coromandel Valley Cemetery between 1849 and 1960.

Its purpose is to honour individual lives and names that in many cases have been forgotten.

While the children named are, to my knowledge, descended from European settlers, I acknowledge the Kaurna people as the traditional owners of this land, the extreme losses they have undergone due to invasion and colonisation, and the universality of the grief which affects any community when a child dies.
